Berwick is the gateway to the Dandenong Ranges, Phillip Island, Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula.

The township of Berwick was proclaimed in 1861, and retains the nostalagia of days gone by, with many streets lined by mature English trees planted by early residents.

Originally heavily timbered, with lovely native grasses, orchids and an abundance of bird life, Berwick is situated on black volcanic undulating hills about 50 kilometres south east of Melbourne.

Noted former residents of Berwick are olympian Edwin Flack and members of Parliament Lord Casey and James Gibb.

Currently Berwick is noted for its boutique shopping, many restaurants, al fresco dining and gourmet takeaway foods, and unique specialty shops.
